Synastry is the astrology of relationships — comparing two people's birth charts to read the dynamic between them. It's the grown-up version of 'compatibility,' miles past sun-sign matching.

How it works

An astrologer overlays both charts and looks at how one person's planets touch the other's: your Venus on their Mars, your Moon against their Saturn, and so on. Easy angles (trines, sextiles) show where it flows; hard ones (squares, oppositions) show where it grinds. The mix is the relationship.

Why it matters

Sun-sign compatibility is a party trick; synastry is the actual reading. It explains why two 'incompatible' signs work and two 'perfect' ones combust — because real chemistry lives in the whole chart, not one placement. It shows the strengths and the work, honestly.

Bottom line

Curious about you and someone specific? Run both charts — sun signs can't tell you what synastry can.

Stop reading about it — see it in your own chart

Definitions are the warm-up. Run your real birth chart and watch all of this show up where it actually lives: your sun, moon, rising, and every planet.
