A birth chart — or natal chart — is a snapshot of the entire sky at the exact moment and place you were born. It maps where every planet sat, by sign and by house, the instant you arrived.

How it works

It's calculated from three things: your birth date, your exact time, and your location. The date fixes the planets' signs, the time fixes the houses and your rising sign, and the place anchors the whole wheel to the horizon.

Why it matters

Your sun sign is one-tenth of you. The full chart shows how you love (Venus), how you fight (Mars), how you think (Mercury), what you need (Moon), and where each of those plays out in your actual life. It's the difference between a headline and the whole article.

Bottom line

Your sun sign is the trailer. Run your full chart to watch the actual movie.

Definitions are the warm-up. Run your real birth chart and watch all of this show up where it actually lives: your sun, moon, rising, and every planet.
